Austin's Big Catch

Ridge and Elizabeth, We cannot say thank you enough for our wonderful vacation. We are continuing to ask ourselves if we saw Jesus today and I personally want to add "were you Jesus, today, to anybody?". It sure is easy to see Jesus at the Red River Ranch. There is a kind spirit in everyone there and your faces glow with the love of God. As promised, here are the pictures of Austin's fish and Meghan's too! Also, below is the exact notes that they wrote for you:

Austin reelin in the big one.

Austin writes: Dear RRRR, I had a great time at the ranch. I liked the horseback riding. If you go, bring your fishing poles. If you want to have a fight with a big catfish, go to the swimming hole. It is a really great place to explore. You really need to go.

Sincerely, Austin -- 11 years old

Meghan writes: Dear RRRR: Elizabeth and Ridge ya'll are such nice people. Your love of God lifted me. I had a great time. Ya'll need to go fishing in the swimming hole. Most of all we all had a
great time and we want to come back. See ya then.

Sincerely, Meghan - - 8 years old.

May God continue to bless you as you have blessed others!

Sincerely, Dewayne and Tammy Kelly Tuttle, OK

Ridge/Elizabeth: Thought you might like proof of the size of the trailer in case someone else wanted to try and get in there. The Lord sure blessed me with my time there, I can promise you that... You can't see it in the photo, but on the sides and back of my trailer I have a brand symbol that is my initials set below a cross. Under the initials are the letter "P B J" . My initials are below the cross so I never forget my place and while the truck, trailer and horses were "provided by Jesus" the meaning I prefer is that I am "pardoned by Jesus" and I know Psalms 25:11 was written for me... thanks again for allowing me such a beautiful setting....

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful experience that you gave my daughter, Taylor!  She was there on Saturday with her step-father, Frank, to ride horses.  Taylor cannot stop talking about how great it was.  I hear that it was beautiful there at your place, and the people were wonderful.  Thank you so very much for extending your kindness and allowing Taylor to come and ride.  She has wished for that for a very long time, and you helped to make that come true for her.  It was so kind of you to make these arrangements with my sister-in-law, Holly, to give Taylor as a Christmas gift.

Please let everyone who was involved that we truly appreciate the kindness that was shown to Taylor and Frank during their visit.  We look forward to getting back to visit some day soon!
God Bless!

The Hide

Our visit to your ranch was a very special part of our vacation, and
we've been telling neighbors and friends in Colorado and in Indiana all about it. As you said, Elizabeth, it was awesome to watch the fireflies at the Hide and especially to do so against a backdrop of endless stars--we had a very clear first night.

We had to be looking carefully to distinguish between a real shooting star (there were a few) and a firefly in the distance! It was a wonderful way to appreciate anew the beauty of God's creation, and in that, your ranch--and all of you there--provided a much more enriching experience than we would find at some other nice B&B or guest ranch.

You clearly have something special and unique. The on-your-own horse-for-a-day (and ATV-for-a-day!) got our attention from the start, and the experience for our daughter was just what she wanted. While you may choose to be selective with your guests in some way, I hope you will still provide an on-your-own horse-for-a-day opportunity. I think it fits with your overall purposes because surely some people will find more of a renewal exploring your ranch with a horse on their own than being on a head-to-tail trail walk. Others will simply have the fun of being more in tune with a horse companion than they've ever done before.

Best wishes, Cliff

Where do you take your grandson to teach him about the wonders of nature? What does a rabbit track look like? See that deer track? Look at the size of the dewclaw! Grandpa, what's a dewclaw?

Red River Ranch Retreat Center is that kind of a place. The North
Fork of the Red River turns and twists and meanders through this
unique place. As you walk along the river banks you become aware of the signs of wild life:
sounds of crows, the gobble of a turkey, the dash of a rabbit to its
hiding place, the sound of a flushing covey of quail. All these
sounds and the tracks that the wild life leave in the sand as a
signature of their presence, all become teaching tools that the
Creator of all this nature provides as part of HIS signature.

My grandson, Ryan and myself have bagged turkeys in the fall and
spring seasons. Last year Ryan was thrilled to get a 13 point buck.
I didn't even see one. Maybe this year will be my year to get a buck.

If you want to hang out with your grandson...

go to Red River Ranch at Sayre, Oklahoma.
